On August 5th, 2010, I started keeping a list of the books I read.
Last night, I finished my one hundred and first book, a poetry collection by Carol Purington.
According to my calculations, this averages one book every week.
Actually, that's nothing to brag about. Back in my 20's and 30's, I polished off double that number in a week.
I am a little proud of this landmark and as writers are readers, I am committed to indulging in the civilizing joy of the written word.
