Home At Last

Brendan and I spent a l-o-n-g day in the ER.

We are now home. Brendan has been diagnosed with a combination of sinus polyps and severe inflammation in his lower right sinus that is triggering the nerves to respond in a manner similar to a migraine headache.

He is now on some very serious medications that are a combination of steroids, anti-inflammatories, an antibiotic, and a narcotic pain killer for about 12 days. There should be some dramatic improvement by then.

Thank you all for your concern, your support, and your prayers. We are more grateful than you can know.

Dumb question; how bad is this?

And I'm glad they know what it is and are taking care of it.

I've been praying for your son, glad they know, now, what's going on and able to treat the problem. I pray that Brendan gets well very soon so that he won't miss trick or treatin'!

I'm glad everything came out more or less alright- at least those are all things that should be fixable or manageable in one fashion or another. Sinus problems are horrible :(

On an off-topic note, while he's recuperating I would highly recommend the movie "The Secret of Kells" to both you and him. It's a wonderful movie about a young Irish monk named Brendan who is working on the illuminated manuscript "The Book of Kells". It does have some animated violence, but no blood or gore.

Great news on the diagnosis and treatment is occurring. You'll all still be in our thoughts and keep us appraised of his progress.
