I just got back from seeing J. J. Abrams' Cloverfield movie and I can tell you some things that won't spoil the film:

First, the monster is one ugly brute, looking like a Lovecraftian fever dream. Unlike the charming Godzilla, this thing is so alien and so ugly you know its a monster. And yes, though you don't get to see a lot of it, you do get to see it in greater detail in the last half hour.

Secondly, if you are prone to motion sickness, this is not the movie for you. Thank heaven it's short because I think the theater would have been puke city if it had gone on for the prerequisite two hours.

Amazingly, there is some humor in it, mostly through Hud, the guy who is documenting everything and, unlike The Blair Witch Project, his running around with a camera makes sense because of his character. That camera sure has good batteries though.

However, and I won't give away any clues, I didn't care for the ending at all.

If you go, you should see the previews for The Dark Knight and guess what? They finally made the Joker evil. And not just bad boy evil, but the very embodiment of depraved lunacy.

Also got to see a teaser for Abrams' Star Trek film coming out near Christmas. Yes!

OOOOOH! Now I'm curious about the flick! =)
Sounds like one of those flicks that you either will love it or hate it.
As for Batman:The Dark Knight, yea, Heath Ledger really plays the most psychopathic and totally evil Joker that I have ever seen on screen ... almost true to the Graphic Novel "The Killing Joke". I've been reading a few things that the Director wanted Joker to be as close to what a real psychopath would do if he could get away with it.
