1) Congrats.

2) How ironic that you attribute this to "a stroke of fortune." ;)

3) Congrats!!! :)

I confess I am really struggling how to see this boon in a theological light for many reasons that are too complex to share here.

Rest assured, there was a very good reason I did not attribute this to "luck."

"A stroke of fortune" seemed to me the best neutral phrase I could use without laying it at God's feet (and, for me, its resulting theological stickiness) and without taking the glory for myself (which I will not do).

Sometimes, I think I just think too much. ;-)

Sometimes, I think I just think too much. Well, you have that bit right!

Seriously though, it is important to take a little credit for having the skills. I tend to think that even if God lays down the path, we still have to have strength and smarts inside us, to follow it.

It's true that your story didn't win this award by itself, but your (and Ken's) story writing skills contributed to an award winning volume. That's you, from inside you. This award wasn't given by God, or by fortunate chance - it was awarded by published authors, for excellence in a product. A product that you can righteously claim to be partly responsible for. Take the credit and be proud, a little self-confidence can go a long way.

Well done and congratulations. I think everyone who follows your writing knows that it is well deserved, overdue even. I hope it helps open up more opportunities - listing a well known award on a letter of introduction is a *very* positive point. The futures so bright, you gotta wear shades! *ducks out of sight, before the copyright lawyers get here*
